I work as a researcher in computer science, recieved my PhD in discrete math. I am fond of beauty of math and algorithms, almost as much as fond of good coffee.
Geometry is beautiful and hard at the same time. At school, I enjoyed it a lot, but then lost interest during my university studies. Eventually, I returned to geometry when I started working as a Math teacher at school. It so happened that I had to r...
What I actually like to do is to describe some algorithms from the most naive approach to quite complicated ones. It is also very satisfying when there are both complex and simple algorithms that improve a lot compared to naive ones, and one can see ...
Frankly, I am not very good at probability theory (yeah, I did not learn as well as I should have been). But this science is so deep and beautiful and helps in a lot of tasks (algorithmic tasks too!) that couldn't have been solved otherwise, it is wo...
During my second-grade bachelor's year (2011-2012) we were told that we should start bothering to find a scientific advisor, since (winter) third grade is coming. That was exactly the year when my future scientific advisor visited our branch of unive...
From time to time I refer to materials of computer science courses and academic literature on math and algorithms due to large interest to the manner of how some study material can be presented to the audience. There are a lot of wonderful computer s...
During my bachelor study at MSU we had a very interesting and diverse programming course. In fact it was not a single course, but a series of different courses, where each year we mastered some new algorithms and technologies and then handed our prob...
Quite recently I've recieved a book back to my hands from the year 2011, the book is called «Algorithms in C++», authored by Robert Sedgewick. It returned after a long wait on a bookshelf in my parents' home. My young mind of a first-grade bachelor s...
